Storyline:  I have to admit that the script is barely passable A thin plot with a super dramatic storyline that does not flow very well, especially towards the end However, the lacklustre script aside, this is a throughly engaging film musical What makes this film tick for me is the presentation Lovely art directionset decoration, ravishing costumes and make ups, appealing musical numbers, good editing, and fine performances by all In fact, much of characters emotions, feelings amp thoughts are effectively reflected in the songs If you can overlook the schmaltzy script like I did, you will enjoy this cinematic celebration of Getai, a Singapore cultural event Or else, you will be put off by the storyline
